My Devotion to the Rosary
How the Rosary Bracelets Came to Be
Like most Catholics, I’ve always had a devotion to the Rosary.
We’re brought up knowing that it’s something we should really try and pray every day, whether we feel like it or not. Throughout childhood and high school, this was pretty easy to accomplish - there was accountability and, for the most part, a regular routine to follow which included the Daily Rosary. Entering adulthood changed things a bit, it was a little more challenging to always remember but I did my best.
Entering motherhood shifted things completely. Becoming a first-time mom is a daunting experience and sticking to daily habits is suddenly a near-impossible task. Not only that but we, as mothers, are responsible for praying the Rosary not only for ourselves, but it is also our job now as the heart of the home to make sure the family prays it also. Even when our children are too young to join us, it is our responsibility as the mother to pray it daily for the intentions of the family. For something of eternal value, we should view this honor and this responsibility as having an eternal significance. As time would soon show, this very season of life that it became the most challenging to stick to my daily Rosary was actually the time I needed it the most.
With each new change in our lives (new babies, moving, new jobs, etc) it was almost like I had to re-implement the habit. The enemy is VERY determined to attack this very powerful family prayer. Nevertheless, I persevered and — looking back — I can always see the many Graces received in times when I was more consistent with my Daily Rosary. I can honestly say that the most consistent I ever became with my Rosary was once I purchased my first ever Rosary bracelet.
I got a Rosary bracelet for Mother’s Day of 2021 and it was something I’d had my eye on for a while. The convenience of having it always with me, the beauty of it (which, truly is nothing in comparison to the actual beauty of what it represents) and the fact that it was something “special” and “new”, I told myself I would make my firmest resolution ever to be consistent with praying it every day. Well, thanks be to God, that’s exactly what happened! Getting that bracelet was the turning point for me being more consistent with my daily recitation of the Rosary.
It was at that time I felt called to start making and selling Rosary bracelets of my own, since that is what served as the beginning of my increase in devotion. Since then, the Rosary bracelets have been selling like crazy and I couldn’t be more grateful to God for this opportunity to spread devotion to His Mother while also helping to support my family.
